Do you want to take your songwriting a step further and create lyrics that connect with your audience and allow you to express your creativity to the fullest?

With this online course, you will gain knowledge that allows you to make a first approach to Songwriting through theoretical tools, writing techniques and creative exercises.

Professor

La Pau is a singer, composer, lyricist and chorus girl born in Barcelona.
He trained as a vocal performer at the El Passatge and Taller de Músics centers, where he completed his Higher Degree. Currently, she works on her musical project and at the EMM in Mataró as a singing and choir teacher.

With La Pau, you will be able to find the solution to those creative blocks you face when writing the lyrics of a song, you will be able to shape the vocal arrangements you imagine and you will have vocal and body technique tools to face your concerts or recordings.

INFORMACIÓ I TEMARI

  • This course includes 10 hours of live online classes so you can answer any questions you may have. This is not a “pre-recorded” online course, in this course you will have feedback and answers from the teacher at all times.
  • Didactic material that you will also acquire after finishing the course.
  • Practical exercises, applied to the theory of the course.

Session 1: Introduction and songwriting techniques. (2h30)

  • The creative engine: what I write and how I write it.
  • What resources do I have to do it?
  • Own voice: who am I, what do I want to explain, why do I want to do it, from what point of view?
  • Linguistic resources: assonant rhymes, consonants, syllables, phrasing, rhetorical figures, poetic and writing forms.
  • Relationship between melody, harmony and lyrics.
  • Various resources: synonym dictionaries, standard dictionaries, rhyming dictionaries…

Session 2: The story. (2h30)

  • Who, what, how, when, where?
  • Structure: Types of structures, what I want to explain in each part.
  • From what point of view do I explain it?
  • Emotion as a creative engine.
  • What do I want to evoke with this song?
  • How do I want to explain it?
  • Through examples, we review and analyze everything we have worked on in previous sessions.

Session 3: Practice. (2h30)

  • Creative exercise 1.

Session 4: Review. (2h30)

  • Sharing and review of practice 1.

Thanks to this course, you will achieve knowledge that will allow you to create personal, creative and unique letters.

You will gain knowledge that will allow you to make a first approach to Songwriting.

To participate in this course you will only need:

  • A computer with an internet connection
  • A camera (not essential)
  • The Zoom app
