JOSÉ ANTONIO CABO
Professor of Musical Analysis and Composition and Piano
He studyed cello, piano and percussion at the Julián Orbón Conservatory of Music in Avilés, Asturias. He played the tuba and percussion in the Banda de Música d’Aviles, Percussion Group of the Conservatory and the Banda de Música del Principado de Asturias. He completed his studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Badalona and the Liceu de Barcelona, specializing in cello.
He was the director of the School of Music of Casal de Llavaneres and of the Municipal School of Music of Llavaneres.
He has taken courses in musical pedagogy and organization of centers taught by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Diputació de Barcelona and the Catalan Association of Music Schools (ACEM), being for four years head of zone 1, coordinator of the Maresme and Vallés Oriental schools.
He has two introductory cello books “Cello” published by DINSINC publishing house in Barcelona.
He has participated as a musical composer for theater groups in different editions of the Tàrrega Fair and the Mercat de les Flors. He has composed music for theater groups such as the Colax Teatre Company, Associació d’investigación i Experimentació Theatral (AIET), Teatre de Ponent and Teatre del Mal, among others.
He has obtained the Diploma of specialization in advanced music and sound, issued by EUMES. He teaches in different schools as a teacher of piano, musical ensembles, musical language and cello.
He performs concerts with different instrumental groups collaborating with the mezzo-soprano Magdalena Campasol in concerts throughout the territory.
He also composes music for soundtracks, making the music for five episodes of the miniseries Plaça d’Ocata.
