Sound basics, live acoustics and recording teacher

Arnau Olivé is the teacher for the subjects “Sound basics“, “Live acoustics and sound” and “Recording” of our Diploma in Advanced Music and Sound.

He is a technical telecom engineer specialised in sound and image at the Ramon Llull University. He has followed basic musical studies at the “Taller de Músics” (the Musician’s Workshop). He has realised the Meyer Sound’s course in audio system design and has also studied Spoken Words and Theatre at the school “El Galliner”.

He has dedicated himself professionally to live sound for over 8 years, a sector in which he has been active at festivals, theatres, auditoriums, halls and public events of all kinds, mainly musical. He has realised live music recordings, tasks of sound design for informatical applications, ads for music festivals and restoration of the sound of historical documents. He has taught at the Department of Education and at the former Mk3 school. In addition, he has imparted workshops about electronic voice processing. He has worked at the Fonoteca of Catalunya as a conservator and digitaliser of antique sound documents.

As an electronic musician he has performed all over Catalunya and has recorded two discographic works under the pseudonym “Orna“. Recently he has been active as an audiovisual creator, realising a video clip and a medium-length film. Moreover, he has co-organised the festival “L’Estrany de Banyoles” for 7 years.
